Oakland Literacy Coalition

The Oakland Literacy Coalition (OLC) is a nonprofit that works to make sure every child in Oakland learns to read and loves reading. Founded in 2008 and becoming independent in 2016, OLC brings together schools, literacy organizations, community leaders, and families. By helping them share resources, knowledge, and ideas, OLC helps improve the way literacy support happens in the city. In the past year alone, in partnership with the Reading Everywhere campaign, OLC has helped give out over 40,000 books to Oakland families.

Oakland Literary Coalition needed a new go-to web developer, but the immediate issue was a login system that didn’t work for users. When they came to me, I was able to troubleshoot and solve the issue quickly. We then moved onto a page redesign to make the user experience smoother. Within a month, they had decided to move to my regular retainer package going forward.
